Pre-Season Friendlies

Tuesday 20th July 2010. Redhill 0 Swans 5.

Swans started their pre-season with a convincing win over the Sussex League club at Goals Soccer Centre in Beckenham. Good strikes from Jamie Read and Louis Clark put Swans 2-0 up at the break and Ray Powell made it 3-0 early in the second-half with another fine shot. Adrian Butler added a fourth goal, and a clever lob over the keeper from halfway made the final score 5-0.

Saturday 24 July 2010. Crawley Down 0 Swans 3.

Jamie Read again opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour at John Crumplin’s former club from the Sussex County League. Antonio Simeone powered home a header five minutes before the break and a goal close to full-time made it 3-0 to Swans.

Tuesday 27 July 2010. St. Mary’s University 2 Swans 6.

Swans went 1-0 down early on at Goals Soccer Centre, Tolworth, but two goals from Junior Kaffo put them 2-0 up at the break. Ray Powell added a third straight after the resumption and three further goals, the last giving Junior Kaffo his hat-trick from the penalty spot, made it 6-1 to Swans before St. Mary’s scored their second.

Saturday 31 July 2010. Beaconsfield SYCOB 2  Swans 1.

Swans played the Zamaretto Central League side at the Teikyo School near Slough, and went 1-0 down after a quarter of an hour. Swans should have had at least three penalties, but the only one awarded in the second-half saw Ryan Lake have his spot-kick saved. Adrian Butler did equalise after 73 minutes, but Beaconsfield scored a late winner.

Tuesday 3 August 2010. Swans 1   Hampton & Richmond Borough 0.

Swans first home friendly saw them gain a good win over their Blue Square South neighbours. The only goal came midway through the second-half from Ray Powell, after he had previously struck the post. The match was marred by a bad knee injury to Junior Kaffo.

Saturday 7 August 2010. Thamesmead Town 3   Swans 0.

Swans put on their least convincing pre-season performance on their first visit to the Ryman League Division One North side, but they were missing several key players. Goalkeeper Dean Ruddy conceded a penalty after just ten minutes to put his new club behind, and some poor defensive play allowed the home side to score a simple second goal. More slack defending resulted in a third goal for Thamesmead ten minutes into the second-half.

Tuesday 10 August 2010.  Swans 2  Kingstonian 0.

A terrific strike from Adrian Butler that went in off the post gave Swans the lead after a quarter of an hour against their neighbours at Stompond Lane. Ray Powell made it 2-0 from the penalty-spot ten minutes before the break following a hand-ball offence.

Saturday 14 August 2010.  Swans 2  Leyton 2.

Matt York put Swans ahead after two minutes in torrential rain at Stompond Lane, but the visitors soon equalised with a soft goal. Ray Powell restored Swans’ lead from the spot after a quarter of an hour, but Leyton again equalised ten minutes from time.
