Hard working right-sided defender or midfielder who joined Swans in the summer of 1996 from Slough Town where he had spent two seasons. Garfield was formerly regarded mainly as a forward and he scored over 100 goals as a young player with his first club Northwood, from whom he moved on to Marlow. Voted Player of the Season for 1999-2000 and now the longest serving player at Swans, having passed 250 appearances. Missed large parts of the last two seasons through injury.
